The Mazhar Resource Centre (MRC)/ Board Room at SGA’s Karachi headquarters is dedicated to preserving the organization’s rich history, safeguarding decades of invaluable records. By organizing and showcasing these materials, MRC ensures their lasting impact for future generations.
Accurate and up-to-date record-keeping is essential for the success of any organization or business. Philosopher Mark Gravy noted, “The greatest tragedy of social transition is not the strident clamor of bad people, but the appalling silence of good people.” Just as people disconnected from their culture are like rootless trees, businesses must understand that records are vital management tools and should be given due importance. Many business leaders overlook the value of maintaining clear documentation, yet it is crucial for meeting financial commitments and making informed future decisions.
Effective record-keeping saves time, tracks costs and staff performance, and provides essential information for future decisions, including the potential sale of a business. In this context, Sindh Graduates Association (SGA), established in 1972, recognized the importance of preserving its vast collection of photographs, reports, and recorded materials. These were scattered and disorganized, posing a risk of loss. To address this, SGA initiated the “Mazhar Resource Centre” (MRC)/ Board Room at its Karachi headquarters, where these historical records are now being systematically organized, preserved, and displayed.
